Library Books
“Link: BBQG Library On-line Catalog“
Our guild library is free for all members. We have hundreds of books and magazines to choose from. The library committee purchases new books each year and resources that are dated or not circulating are purged regularly.
We are always looking for tips and suggestions about books that you have spotted in your travels. Also, do let us know if you are personally interested in any particular book or subject and we will do our best to add these items to the library. Your input is very important to us.
If you are new to quilting, reading quilt books is an excellent way to learn new techniques. If you have been quilting a long time, pick up a book and learn the newest colour and design trends!
The BBQG Library now has an electronic tablet at the meeting table. It is Wi-Fi-enabled and equipped with the Application LIbraryThing. Feel free to come and search our Library resources by hand or via the tablet. While we are not yet able to do ‘on-line lending’, having the on-line catalogue makes it much easier to check our lending cards and let you know whether the resource is in inventory or out on loan. New acquisitions are often in high demand and you are welcome to reserve ahead. Please ask for assistance; we will do our best to answer your questions.
If you wish to spend a bit more time with books, we are always looking for help with setting up, organizing loans and returns, and packing up our collection at the end of a meeting.
To give you time to browse, the library is open and ready at 6.30pm each month. We look forward seeing you “in the stacks”!

Library Guidelines
Library books are available to MEMBERS ONLY for the period of one month (guild meeting to guild meeting). A book loan can be extended month to month. Please renew at the next guild meeting or, if you are unable to attend that meeting, please renew by emailing BBQG.Libry@gmail.com. When you run over your due date without renewing, the fine is a “loonie” per item per month.
Please sign out your books before taking them away from the library table. Record your name, phone number, and the next month and year on each library card and place them in the basket provided. Please also pick up a bookmark with the date of the next meeting stamped on it so you will remember when the books are due back.
If at the end of the meeting you decide not to take items home, simply return them to the library’s drop-off receptacle provided on the library table.
The library does accept donated books however usually limits them to within ten years of their publication date. Library resources that exceed the 10-year publication limit are usually sold at our Guild or Quilt show book sales. Please sign the inside cover of your donated items with your name and the date donated. These books are always gratefully received.
